Al-Ghaithi Family

September 26, 2008

Many of you may remember when this disaster took place last year. A gas explosion killed a Muslim sister rahimahallah, leaving behind 4 young daughters and her husband. The oldest one who is 6 has severe burns on 60% of her body, one of them has been permanently blinded, and the other two were also severely burned. Here is an excerpt from one of the articles about their condition after the explosion:

“Afaf was burned over 70 percent of her body. Twka’s vocal chords and trachea were burned, and her teeth disintegrated in the blaze. Lina was blinded. Duaa was so badly burned that for more than six months she could breathe only through a tube in her throat and needed a feeding tube to eat.”

inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon.

Alhamdulillah the family is doing well but they have many struggles. Please donate to the family inshaAllah, even one dollar…our Messenger alayhi salaatu wa salaam told us: save yourselves from the fire even with half a date. It’s the last 10 days and this month of mercy is soon to be over.

Alhamdulillah around $13,000 has been raised for them already. A sister and her husband who live near this family and doing this initiative for them, as she said, “I thought it would be nice to smack a stuffed envelope in his hand and see his reaction

Contact the sister (or her husband) for more information, here: Sisters can email her at Brothers can email her husband @ To donate through paypal, please send your donation to:

We should all be hurting now, the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.” [Sahih Muslim, Book 032, Number 6258]

We ask Allah ta’ala to make them among those whom He loves, among those whom He sends His Salawaat upon, to pour patience and steadfastness upon them, to purify them, and make this whole family companions of Firdaws al ‘Alaa. Ameen.

Jazakum Allahu khayran.
