Know your Dhikr

Bismillah, walhamdulillah, was Salaatu was Salaamu ‘alaa Rasoolillaah,

And remember Allah much, that you may be successful.” (62:10)

InshaAllah this page will be dedicated to compiling adhkaar (plural of dhikr) that we say on a regular basis, so that we can understand what we are saying! InshaAllah I will be sharing very detailed meanings of each dhikr.

These adhkaar have been dissected so far, walhamdulillah:

  1. Tahmeed
  2. Tasbeeh
  3. Tabaarak
  4. Takbeer

InshaAllah to come:

  1. Tahleel

Why specifically these adkhaar?

Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu reported that the Messenger of Allah sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said, “The uttering of the words: ‘SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha il Allah, Allahu Akbar’ are dearer to me that anything over which the sun rises.” [Saheeh Muslim]

The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam also said, “The mufaridoon have surpassed all.” They asked, “Who are the mufaridoon, Messenger of Allah?” He (peace be upon him) replied, “Those men and women who remember Allah abundantly.” [Saheeh Muslim]

May Allah ta’ala make us among those who remember Him, Ameen.
