Names of Allah

Bismillah walhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen, was Salaatu was Salaamu ‘alaa Rasoolihil Ameen
All praise is for Allah who has guided us to Islam, a praise that is countless, good and blessed.
All praise is for Allah who has blessed us all, from our varying backgrounds and locations, with the intention of coming closer to Him, by learning, memorizing, practicing, and remembering His Most Beautiful Names and Attributes.

وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا

And to Allah belongs the Most Beautiful Names, so call on Him by them. (7:180)

Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu reported that the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said, Allah has ninty-nine names, one hundred less one. Whoever ‘ahsaaha‘ will enter Jannah. [Bukhari and Muslim]

The most important thing for us to remember is that the hadeeth says “man ahsaahaa”, meaning, according to shaykh Jamaal Zarabozo and shaykh Yasir Qadhi: whoever enumerates them, believes in them, ponders their meanings, worships Allah by them and supplicates with them, and acts by them according to one’s belief in them. So it’s not just about memorizing the names of Allah ta’ala, we mustahsaaha‘.

InshaAllah this page will include a collection of the authentic Names of Allah, each Name will be covered in a detailed manner including roots, where it is found in the Qur’an and Sunnah, how we live by this Name, and what the scholars of Islam have said concerning the Name.

I would like to mention that the authentic Names of Allah ta’ala are very important to know, and I am not sharing these from my own knowledge but based on courses I have taken by trustworthy teachers. (may Allah ta’ala reward all the teachers of this ummah, Ameen)

With the Blessings of Allah, we have shared so far:

Asalam alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakatuhu,
jazakallahu khairan on your work on detailed explanations on the names of Allah. I really really urge you to add more, as there are not many good sources to learn the names and are difficult to find. I have looking for reliable sources for some time now, and the definitions vary from site to site, and it is confusing for a revert like me.
Is there a single book/article you are getting your detailed explanations, because i would be highly interested in discovering this treasure source!
May Allah reward you for your continued excellent effort on explaining His Names with nothing less than Jannatul-Firdaus, Ameen.

    wa iyyaki alhamdulillah.

InshaAllah I am going to release a short e-book with all of these Names and some more to help spread this information.

It is not from one source or book, but if you flip through some of the resources at the top of the page, they have pretty good info.

here is a nice document as well: http://bit.ly/tMeQO

may Allah increase you in beneficial knowledge.
